Buffalo Niagara International Airport said emergency repairs to its fuel farm circuit system caused some departing flights to be delayed and diverted to refuel elsewhere.
Airport officials said there was no fuel shortage, and by Monday the disruption had eased to minimal delays, with most Buffalo flights still scheduled on time.
A notice to airmen issued around 10:30 Sunday night had fueled overnight reports that the airport was out of fuel and unable to refuel aircraft.
Patrick De Haan of GasBuddy said Buffalo receives jet fuel by truck rather than pipeline, suggesting the problem was a localized systems issue rather than a broader supply risk.
