A consultation has opened across Greater Manchester on adding a Good Employment Culture membership tier to the Good Employment Charter, with feedback due by 16 September.
The proposed tier would recognize employers that go beyond baseline employment standards to build positive workplace culture, after many of the charter’s original principles were absorbed into employment law.
Charter members from different sectors and organization sizes helped define what good workplace culture looks like and how it could be assessed credibly.
The charter, launched in 2019, now has more than 160 members and 2,000 supporters employing about 250,000 people, giving the new tier broad regional reach.
Responses will feed into Good Employment Week 2026, running 5-9 October, where workplace culture will be the central theme.
