Notability Launches on Android After 16 Years of Apple Exclusivity

Notability reached Android in early August after entering beta in April, ending a roughly 16-year run as an iPhone, iPad and Mac-only app since its 2010 debut.
The Android release brings the app’s core draw—a blank-page note canvas with handwriting, text, image inserts, folders, collaboration and voice recordings—aimed at brainstorming and annotation rather than rigid note templates.
AI features extend that pitch: the Learn tool can summarize uploaded files, generate flashcards and quizzes, transcribe audio, and answer questions from selected material.
Pricing starts with a free tier capped at five notes, while paid plans range from $12 a month to $80 a month, plus a $40 one-time Classic option.
The move gives cross-platform users access to a long Apple-exclusive note app as productivity tools increasingly compete on AI features and device flexibility.
