According to the affidavit, Moser told investigators a "demon" told him to stab Heintz after an argument, then he fetched a knife from inside his house and stabbed her in the chest.
He told police he put Heintz's body in her vehicle, called his mother, and drove to her house, where they allegedly cleaned the car, washed his clothes and discarded the chef's knife.
Investigators said the pair then abandoned Heintz's Jeep in a university parking lot with her body inside; police found it shortly after midnight after a call to check the vehicle.
PennWest California and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference said Heintz was due to make her collegiate debut next week; the conference will hold moments of silence through Sept. 3, and a vigil is planned Sunday.
