185 Nevada voter registrants have been manually confirmed as noncitizens, while DHS told state officials more than 14,000 of its 15,903 flagged cases remain unresolved.
6,200 of those names were labeled “higher confidence matches,” but DHS said even those were not definitive because some could be naturalized citizens or mismatched records.
Nevada officials said DHS has not provided enough verified data to justify removals before the midterms, and Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar said the state would not risk disenfranchising eligible voters.
The gap between DHS’s private review and its public claims undercuts a broader Trump administration push citing noncitizen voting to back stricter election rules, including the stalled SAVE America Act.
That campaign has also drawn scrutiny over methodology and pressure tactics, as DHS election adviser Heather Honey urged faster state reviews while the administration withholds grants and pursues voter-roll lawsuits.
