Stephany Hollihan, 42, and her husband Michele Sensi-Contugi were identified among seven people killed Wednesday when a chartered helicopter crashed in central Kenya.
The flight was traveling from Loisaba wildlife conservancy to the Ewaso Ng’iro River area north of Nairobi when it went down; the cause remains under investigation.
Sensi-Contugi was director general of Ecuador’s intelligence agency, and Ecuador’s presidential office issued condolences to his family after the crash.
Another confirmed victim was Telemundo executive José Suárez, while the identities of the other three passengers and the pilot were not immediately released.
Hollihan founded Ecuador-based SensiStudio in 2010, building a brand distributed in more than 15 countries around handmade Panama hats, handbags and ready-to-wear.
