Kurt S. Solomon, 57, died on Aug. 18, according to an obituary that announced a funeral Mass for Aug. 26 at Our Lady of the Angels Church in Worcester.
Solomon spent 31 years with the Worcester Police Department after Army service in Germany and criminal justice studies at Quinsigamond Community College.
The obituary said he is survived by two sons, his mother and two brothers, and highlighted his ties to the community through the police union, church and food-bank donations from his garden.
