Greenland Warns Trump-Linked Oil Firm Over $60 Million Drilling Push

Greenland issued a "strong warning" after drilling equipment for Greenland Energy was landed on Jameson Land without prior approval from the mineral resources authority.
A dozen containers were unloaded on the eastern coast for planned oil exploration, even though the Texas company still lacks permission to drill and says one well would now be the first step.
Greenland Energy says it could spend $60 million to test an area it claims may hold $1 trillion of crude, while a larger shipment of 300 containers is due from Canada on Sept. 12 ahead of planned October drilling.
The dispute lands as Trump renews threats to claim Greenland, raising pressure on local leaders who control mineral decisions and must weigh environmental protections against fears a rejection could fuel his agenda.
