Summary
$28 million from more than 5,000 investors remains in Autopilot’s Leopold Aschenbrenner strategy after $3 million to $5 million was withdrawn when his hedge fund troubles became public.
Autopilot said its copycat portfolio avoided the leverage, shorting and derivatives that sank Situational Awareness, leaving it down more than 30% in July but up 35% from last Wednesday’s low.
The strategy has gained 53.4% since its March 5 launch, versus a 67% July loss at Aschenbrenner’s fund, which was later forced to sell most public stock holdings to Citadel at a 10% discount.
The 14-stock portfolio is concentrated in AI infrastructure names including Nebius at 30% and Coreweave and Bloom Energy at 12% each, and it updates only when new public filings appear.
Autopilot plans to keep tracking the fund while it still trades, with Aschenbrenner’s next 13F due by August 14 likely to draw close scrutiny.
