Mirendil Signs $100 Million Google Cloud Deal for Self-Improving AI Compute

Mirendil locked in a multi-year Google Cloud partnership worth more than $100 million, securing compute capacity to scale its self-improving AI research.
The deal gives the startup access to Google TPUs, Nvidia GPUs and managed training clusters, which Mirendil says lets it match workloads to different chips and lower training costs.
Benham Neyshabur said Mirendil is building AI that can iteratively improve its own knowledge and performance, with aims spanning scientific research in medicine, biology and materials science.
The agreement is roughly half the size of Mirendil’s late-June seed round at a $1 billion valuation and underscores the race between cloud providers and AI startups to lock up scarce infrastructure.
For Google, the partnership adds a frontier recursive self-improvement customer whose software could help enterprises extract more from its hardware as cloud rivals compete for AI workloads.
