One week into Jahmyr Gibbs’ hold-in, Lions GM Brad Holmes said the team is still in dialogue with the running back on a new contract.
Holmes told SiriusXM that Detroit “love[s] Jahmyr” and still values its backfield “one-two punch,” but offered no concrete sign that negotiations are close to a deal.
That cautious update follows earlier comments from coach Dan Campbell, who said he was surprised an agreement had not already been reached.
The lack of visible progress has stretched the standoff longer than many expected, even as the Lions continue to project optimism that a deal will get done soon.
