Palantir CEO Alex Karp Renews IP Attack on Frontier AI Labs as Revenue Jumps 93%

Alex Karp said Monday that enterprises should not have to surrender intellectual property to use frontier AI models, accusing labs of pushing customers into dependence while Palantir offers an application layer that keeps data and control in-house.
Karp specifically targeted Anthropic and OpenAI, rejecting their assurances that customer data is secure and not used for training unless businesses explicitly opt in.
The remarks extend a public fight Karp started in early July over token pricing and model control, a debate that drew backing from figures including Chamath Palihapitiya, Satya Nadella and Jamie Dimon.
Late July added a national-security angle when Palantir, Nvidia and Microsoft backed open-weight models, while cheaper Chinese models and distillation fears increased pressure on closed-source leaders.
Palantir tied that argument to its earnings Monday, with Karp calling AI sovereignty a core mission as the company reported 93% overall revenue growth and nearly 150% growth in U.S. commercial sales.
