Ogles Files Impeachment Resolution Against 1 Judge Over Somali TPS Stay

Rep. Andy Ogles filed an impeachment resolution against U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs after she temporarily blocked the Trump administration from ending Temporary Protected Status for Somalis.
Friday’s stay kept Somali TPS in place despite a June Supreme Court ruling that sharply limited lower courts’ power to halt TPS decisions; plaintiffs had amended their complaint to press racial-discrimination claims.
DHS General Counsel James Percival called the ruling "defiance, obstruction, and delay," while Ogles said Burroughs was trying to evade the high court and should be removed from the bench.
The move revives a broader campaign by Trump allies against what they call activist judges, though a push last year to impeach Judge James Boasberg stalled after senior House Republicans questioned the tactic.
