Samsung Delays Galaxy Z Fold 8 Orders to October as 1.44 Million Pre-Sales Set Record

Summary
Samsung told customers high demand is delaying specific Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra configurations, with some U.S. models now showing delivery dates as late as Oct. 2 instead of the Aug. 7 launch.
The delays are uneven by color, storage and channel: Samsung's U.S. site showed some variants arriving Aug. 10 to Sept. 4, while Best Buy and Amazon still listed Aug. 7 availability when checked.
In South Korea, new Fold 8 orders slipped to Aug. 28 across all colors and storage tiers, the Fold 8 Ultra 1TB moved to the same date, and offline retail fulfillment reportedly stretches into mid-September.
Demand data backs Samsung's explanation: combined Korean pre-sales for the Fold 8 Ultra, Fold 8 and Flip 8 hit a record 1.44 million units, up about 38.5% from last year's foldables, while India logged 271,000 pre-orders in 72 hours.
What remains unclear is whether Samsung simply underestimated base Fold 8 demand or also ran into component, production or allocation constraints ahead of the Aug. 7 rollout in roughly 100 countries.
