Indonesia Cuts August CPO Reference Price 0.44% to $996.52 a Ton, Lowering Export Duty

$996.52 per ton is Indonesia’s August crude palm oil reference price, down $4.38 from July and cutting the export duty to $148 per metric ton.
A 12.5% export levy stays in place at $124.56 per ton, while branded RBD palm olein in packages up to 25 kilograms faces a $33-per-ton export duty.
June 20-July 19 price averages on the Indonesian and Malaysian exchanges were used for the benchmark under Finance Ministry rules, after those two markets sat closest to the median.
Weaker demand from India and lower global crude oil prices dragged on CPO during the reference period, pointing to softer external support for one of Indonesia’s key export commodities.
