Summary
366,000 battery-electric vehicles were registered in Europe in June, up 50% year over year and marking the region’s highest monthly BEV total on record.
New cheaper models, high gasoline prices and a wave of Chinese entries helped drive demand, while plugin sales overall rose 41% and BEVs made up 71% of all plugin registrations.
1.4 million total vehicles were sold in June, up 13%, with plugins and hybrids together reaching 72% of the market; petrol fell to 21% share and diesel to 6%.
Tesla led the monthly BEV table with 34,480 Model Y registrations and 18,028 Model 3 sales, while Chinese brands doubled their overall market share to 10% from 5% a year earlier.
Year to date, BEVs hold 23% of Europe’s market and plugins 33%, already above full-year 2025 levels, signaling faster electrification even as key mass-market segments still lag.
