Trump also ordered temporary warning signs outside the National Museum of American History directing visitors to the report, widening a fight over how a federally funded institution should present U.S. history.
The Smithsonian, which oversees 21 museums, the National Zoo and nearly 157 million objects and receives more than $1 billion a year in federal funding, did not immediately comment.
