Summary
Two Ukrainian drones sank a Russian-flagged FESCO logistics vessel in the Sea of Azov, more than 200 kilometres from Novorossiysk, Zelensky said; Rosatom, FESCO's owner, confirmed the loss.
Rosatom said the ship was a civilian container vessel carrying civilian goods in international waters and that all 17 crew members were rescued by another ship and Black Sea Fleet aviation units.
Zelensky also said Ukrainian strikes hit infrastructure at three refineries in Bashkortostan, part of Kyiv's campaign to disrupt Russian fuel supplies and revenue.
The attack came as Russian shipping in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov has been largely stalled by recent drone strikes, even while Moscow said it downed 274 Ukrainian drones overnight.
Hours earlier, Russia launched 35 missiles and 185 drones at Ukraine, killing at least nine in Kyiv, where Zelensky said depleted Patriot interceptor stocks allowed only one ballistic missile to be shot down.
