Summary
$9 million in corporate gifts to Trump’s Freedom 250 surfaced in new mid-year lobbying contribution reports, the first public disclosure of how much more than 20 sponsors gave.
The filings add detail to a fundraising drive that the Wall Street Journal said has topped $50 million, including $2 million from TikTok and $1 million each from Oracle and ExxonMobil.
Trump’s administration began soliciting donations early last year after creating Freedom 250 by executive order, separate from the congressionally established America 250 nonprofit.
Freedom 250 has reportedly offered bigger donors branding opportunities and access to private events with the president, even as Congress approved $150 million for anniversary events and the administration sought another $10 million for National Mall costs.
Separate lobbying disclosures also showed SoftBank gave $50 million to the Trump presidential library foundation, the largest single contribution reported in the six-month period.
