NRO confirmed the classified NROL-95 payload was deployed after SpaceX launched it from Cape Canaveral at 3:10 a.m. EDT on July 30.
Falcon 9 booster B1096 completed its seventh flight and landed at Landing Zone 2 about 8.5 minutes after liftoff, marking SpaceX’s 642nd booster landing and the site’s 18th.
The mission is the third NRO launch flown on Falcon 9 under the U.S. Space Force’s National Security Space Launch Phase 2 contract; the task order went to SpaceX in August 2024.
NRO said the launch supports next-generation intelligence architecture and more resilient surveillance and reconnaissance systems, underscoring the national-security role of the classified mission.
