28 states and D.C. also added jobs from May to June; Texas gained 5,200, while California posted the biggest monthly drop at 4,100 jobs and the largest annual loss at 15,400.
AGC said higher financing costs are still weighing on some private construction segments, even as public works and industrial-related demand support payrolls.
The group warned that tariff uncertainty, resistance to data center projects, power-supply constraints and Congress's delay on a long-term highway and transit bill could weaken future construction demand.
