Summary
Lincoln Hospital pronounced a 12-year-old boy dead after he was shot in the shoulder in a Saturday afternoon shooting in Concourse Village, police said.
Elliot Place and Walton Avenue erupted in gunfire just before 5 p.m.; two other victims, ages 25 and 34, were hit in the buttocks and foot and are expected to survive.
Police had not released a shooter description, disclosed any link among the three victims, or identified a motive by Saturday night, and no arrests had been made.
A witness said he heard what sounded like two shots and then saw people running, as detectives kept roads closed around the scene and continued investigating.
