Apple Backend Signals Utah ID Wallet Support After 5-Year Wait

Backend code spotted by MacRumors points to Utah driver's licenses and state IDs nearing support in Apple Wallet on iPhone and Apple Watch.
Utah already offers a mobile license app, and the state's FAQ says existing users should be able to download that ID into Apple Wallet once integration launches.
Apple first named Utah in 2021 when it unveiled Wallet IDs, but the state still says the feature is in initial planning, suggesting its public guidance may lag development.
14 states and Puerto Rico already support Wallet IDs, which work at select TSA checkpoints, while iOS 26 also lets users add a U.S. passport as a Digital ID.
