Cobb Parents Confront School Board Over Trump Rally, Half the Room Walks Out

Dozens of parents and residents blasted the Cobb County school board after President Donald Trump’s visit to Wheeler High School, with boos erupting and roughly half the packed meeting room walking out.
More than a dozen speakers said the district misled families by presenting the event as educational before it became a Republican campaign rally tied to the midterm election.
A smaller group defended the decision, saying hosting a sitting president showcased Cobb County schools and supported promotion of Trump accounts.
Superintendent Chris Ragsdale called the visit a historic honor, saying the White House chose Cobb County from more than 13,000 public school districts and noting the system has now hosted 3 sitting presidents.
School officials still have not said whether they will change rules for future political visits or how much advance notice board members received before approving this one.
