Summary
September will bring the first pupils to Creating Tomorrow College’s new Rugby campus at Symmetry Park, a SEND site for 18- to 25-year-olds created with Iron Mountain.
The college says the campus is designed to improve employment prospects for young people with learning difficulties by placing learners in a live working environment and exposing them to careers including hospitality and retail.
Principal Gareth Ivett said fewer than 5% of young people with learning difficulties are in work even though about 86% want to be, framing the gap the new campus aims to address.
All six places for the first intake have already been filled, extending the college’s network beyond Kettering, Daventry, Lutterworth and Wellingborough into Warwickshire.
