Doug Ford urged Ottawa to block or limit exports of potash, critical minerals, oil and electricity after Trump ordered 50% tariffs on many Canadian goods.
Those products were excluded from the new US tariffs, which take effect Aug. 19 and cover about C$20 billion of Canadian imports, giving Canada leverage in sectors Washington still needs.
Susan Holt of New Brunswick also floated energy restrictions, saying her province's refinery helps supply gasoline to the Boston area and fuel for US homes and military use.
The retaliation push dominated premiers' talks in Charlottetown and adds pressure on Prime Minister Mark Carney, who had already said 'everything is on the table' in Canada's response.
