Two software-related drawbacks stand out: the USB-C receiver records dual mics as split left-right channels with no apparent mono option, and GoPro’s camera UI shows only one active mic even when both are recording.
6-hour per-charge transmitters and included USB-C and 3.5mm receivers make the kit broadly compatible with phones, PCs and cameras, though direct GoPro pairing works with only one mic at a time.
Against DJI, Rode and Hollyland rivals, the system lacks onboard recording and 32-bit float, but its strongest edge is tighter integration with GoPro cameras and noticeably better sound than built-in GoPro mics.
Engadget says the flaws look fixable via firmware, leaving the accessory as a meaningful upgrade that strengthens GoPro’s position in lightweight vlogging kits.
