Two years of mediation, paying both mortgages and relying on Hilton to handle finances left her, in her words, "living from massive paycheck to massive paycheck" and unable to cover basic bills.
Clery says the financial strain followed a chaotic split marked by alleged cheating, Hilton's relapse, a suicide threat in front of their children and later claims that he broke into her home and hacked her accounts.
The couple separated in August 2022 and filed for divorce in June 2023; Clery says she later won full custody while Hilton received supervised visitation, though she says she still hopes he stays sober.
