Raskin Probes Epstein’s 2.5 Million DOJ Files for Unregistered Foreign Agent Ties

Summary
Jamie Raskin asked the Justice Department, State Department and intelligence community for records on whether Jeffrey Epstein acted as an unregistered foreign agent for multiple countries.
Released DOJ and House Oversight documents already show “substantial evidence,” Raskin said, that Epstein advanced Saudi and Kuwaiti interests, advised the Russian government and consulted for a former Israeli prime minister.
Raskin also wants DOJ to say in writing whether Epstein was ever investigated under foreign-agent laws, arguing his undeclared foreign contacts posed potential security risks.
About 2.5 million unreleased DOJ documents could contain more on Epstein’s foreign ties, though the request is likely to stall in the Republican-controlled House without subpoena power.
The push doubles as a preview of how Democrats could pursue Epstein-related oversight if they retake the House in the next Congress.
