Frank Bisignano told CNBC on Tuesday that a Wall Street Journal report accusing him of spying on colleagues at JPMorgan Chase was false, saying, “None of it’s true.”
The denial answered allegations that, more than 10 years ago, he directed security staff to access coworkers’ emails while he was a senior JPMorgan executive.
The Journal report said the alleged targets included rivals such as Charlie Scharf and cast the effort as part of Bisignano’s push to control employees and undercut competitors.
The accusation lands as Bisignano now leads the IRS and Social Security Administration after leaving JPMorgan in 2013, raising scrutiny over his conduct in a previous role.
