Xbox Unveils 2026 Lineup With GTA 6 on Nov. 19 and Returning Console Exclusives

Xbox’s 2026 release slate stretches from July to December, with Grand Theft Auto 6 set for Nov. 19 as the year’s biggest tentpole on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC.
The lineup also signals a strategic shift under CEO Asha Sharma: Xbox console exclusives are returning even as some studios have exited Xbox Game Studios and some projects were canceled.
Gears of War: E-Day is the clearest example of that reset, launching Oct. 6 as an Xbox console exclusive with a PC release after last year’s PlayStation-bound Gears remake.
Other major releases crowd September and October, including Control Resonant on Sept. 24, Minecraft Dungeons 2 on Sept. 29, Final Fantasy Resonance on Oct. 22 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on Oct. 23.
The slate mixes first-party bets with broad third-party support, suggesting Xbox is trying to pair marquee exclusives with a packed cross-platform calendar heading into 2026’s holiday season.
