Summary
Unidentified remains found Sunday after Iran’s July 17 attack in Jordan are being examined, and the U.S. military said another service member has now been confirmed dead, bringing total U.S. troop deaths in the war to 17.
CENTCOM said its latest strikes hit Revolutionary Guard coastal surveillance, air defense, maritime, missile and drone storage sites to retaliate for the Jordan killings and weaken Iran’s ability to control the strait.
U.S. footage showed fighter-jet and sea-launched Tomahawk strikes, while Iran’s atomic energy agency said a planned nuclear power plant site at Darkhovin in the southwest was also targeted.
The second week of exchanges has spread across the region: Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain activated air defenses again, and Israel warned missiles aimed at Jordan could spill fire into Israeli territory.
