Nintendo Unveils 2 N64 Remakes for 2026, Reviving Zelda and Star Fox

Nintendo said 2026 will bring remakes of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Star Fox 64, pairing two defining Nintendo 64 games in the Switch 2's second year.
15 years after both got 3DS remasters in 2011, the new versions appear aimed at different needs: reintroducing Star Fox after years of inactivity and easing newer Zelda fans into a more linear 3D format.
Star Fox has lacked a widely embraced modern entry since the Wii U-era Star Fox Zero, and the report says the remake is being developed by Velan Studios, potentially as a springboard for future original games.
Zelda arrives from a stronger position, with Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom reshaping the series; an Ocarina remake could bridge newer players toward traditional design while also marking the franchise's 40th anniversary.
