Saturday, 18 July, Pope Leo XIV will attend a 9 p.m. concert in the Apostolic Palace courtyard at Castel Gandolfo, offered by the Diocese of Albano in his honor.
All tickets have already been allocated for the event, which Bishop Vincenzo Viva said is meant as a gesture of affection and communion with the pontiff.
Marco Rogliano will open the program with Paganini’s La Polacca, followed by pianist Rossana Tomassi Golkar performing a Bellini-based work reworked for her by Oscar-winning composer Luis Bacalov.
A 55-member I Musici di Parma orchestra under Pier Carlo Orizio will accompany the soloists, with visual staging tied to the Bellini piece and a Bechstein grand piano from the Fabbrini Collection.
Viva said Leo’s renewed presence in diocesan territory has brought joy locally, while thanking donors, local businesses and Vatican staff involved in organizing the concert.
