Summary
Two people were killed and six injured in an overnight ballistic missile attack on Kyiv, with at least three hospitalized and a 16-year-old among the wounded.
At least eight ballistic missiles were headed toward the capital, Ukraine's Air Force said, as warehouses and other non-residential buildings were hit and attacks were still ongoing.
Kharkiv also reported drone-strike explosions, and aerial alerts spread to regions including Vinnytsia as Russia launched additional Shahed waves across Ukraine.
July has already brought seven ballistic attacks on Kyiv, including strikes on July 2 and July 6 that together killed more than 50 people.
Ukraine says only U.S.-made Patriot systems can reliably stop ballistic missiles, but its interceptor stockpiles are exhausted as the government reels from Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov's dismissal.
