Wai Ching Ho Dies at 82 After Stroke, Leaving Marvel and Hustlers Legacy

Wai Ching Ho died at 82 after suffering a stroke, her representative confirmed, with co-star Peter Shinkoda announcing her death on Instagram on July 11.
Two days before the announcement, Ho passed away peacefully, according to actor Perry Yung, whose tribute joined messages from Shinkoda and actress Mahira Kakkar praising her generosity and influence.
Marvel fans knew Ho as Madame Gao in "Daredevil," "Iron Fist" and "The Defenders," while her wider screen work included "Hustlers," "Turning Red," "Fresh Off the Boat" and "Only Murders in the Building."
Born in Hong Kong in 1943, Ho made her feature debut in 1990's "Cadillac Man" and continued working through final projects including the 2026 film "The Gardener" and podcast series "Aunties."
