DSA membership data show that strain is reshaping political identity: 9% of members worked in tech in 2021, white-collar workers made up 13%, and 28% of respondents earned $100,000 or more.
Broader skepticism toward capitalism has also risen, with 51% saying it is not working well or at all, up from 37% in 2015, as socialist candidates gain electoral traction.
