Summary
A Kyiv court ordered a GUR officer and a former law enforcement officer held without bail over the killing of 39-year-old Anastasiia Berezovska, whose body was found Tuesday with gunshot wounds near Kyiv.
Prosecutors said Berezovska had been identified by Interpol as a key suspect in the June 29 Monaco bombing that seriously wounded businessman Vadym Yermolaiev, his son and partner.
Court proceedings showed investigators traced Berezovska to the two suspects through cryptocurrency transfers after she returned to Ukraine from Poland two days after the blast.
Vladyslav Reut first confessed and led police to Berezovska's grave, then retracted that account in court and accused co-defendant Vitalii Zhykovych of firing the fatal shots.
The case has widened into a cross-border probe: Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko said Friday he asked Monaco to form a joint investigative group, while motives for both the bombing and Berezovska's killing remain unclear.
