Summary
Ten rural Kansas projects won state funding to turn vacant or underused buildings into business incubators, shared kitchens, co-working hubs and pop-up retail spaces.
The awards respond to rising demand for flexible, lower-risk space where entrepreneurs can test products, launch ventures and scale businesses in small communities.
Top grants reached $95,090 for projects in Cimarron, Luray, Minneapolis and Yates Center, while Potwin received $28,250 and several others ranged from about $78,000 to $91,000.
Kansas says the Revive & Thrive program is meant to repurpose existing infrastructure into modern workspaces that support downtown activity, job creation and broader rural revitalization.
