At 8:04 p.m., the White House X account posted an AI-altered image reading “DONALD TRUMP IS YOUR PRESIDENT” about 10 minutes after pink “JUST&T MARRIED” signs for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce lit up outside Madison Square Garden.
The post, captioned “IT’S HAPPENED!!,” extended a broader White House effort to piggyback on Swift-Kelce attention after an Instagram meme Friday and an “America’s Eras Tour” riff a day earlier.
Online backlash was immediate, with critics recirculating the image to add messages including “Trump is in the Epstein files,” “Trump is a felon,” and “Trump raised your prices!”
Later Friday, Trump traveled to Mount Rushmore, where a hailstorm briefly delayed a 30-minute speech in which he said Iran was “dying to settle,” attacked a domestic “communist menace,” and complained about not getting a Nobel Prize.
